The GalvaCYL Product
What is GalvaCYL?
GalvaCYL is a cold galvanizing solution based on zinc, designed to protect ferrous metals against corrosion. Unlike hot-dip galvanizing, it can be applied directly on site or in the workshop, without industrial equipment. The formula is eco-friendly, solvent-free and manufactured in France.
What is the difference between GalvaCYL Standard and GalvaCYL Pro?
GalvaCYL Standard (100g) is ideal for individuals and small jobs: touch-ups, punctual repairs, small surfaces.
GalvaCYL Pro (1kg) is the professional format for craftsmen, construction companies, industries and all work requiring large surface treatment. The formulation is identical — only the packaging differs.

On which surfaces can GalvaCYL be applied?
GalvaCYL is compatible with all ferrous metals: steel, wrought iron, cast iron, degraded or damaged galvanized steel. It is perfectly suited for metal frames, grilles, gates, guardrails, industrial structures and agricultural equipment.
It is not suitable for non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, stainless steel).

Can GalvaCYL replace hot-dip galvanizing?
GalvaCYL is the ideal solution for touch-ups and localised protection, particularly on areas damaged after welding or cutting, or for parts that cannot be dipped. For large new structures in very aggressive environments, hot-dip galvanizing remains the reference. GalvaCYL offers a practical, economical and fast alternative in the vast majority of field applications.
How long does the anti-corrosion protection last?
The duration of protection depends on the environment and the quality of surface preparation. In a standard outdoor environment, protection can last several years. In aggressive environments (coastal, industrial, humid), periodic renewal is recommended. Good surface preparation remains the key factor in maximising service life.
Is the product eco-friendly?
Yes. GalvaCYL is formulated without solvents, in compliance with European environmental regulations (VOC). It is manufactured in France, which reduces the carbon footprint related to transport. Our commitment is to offer effective protection that respects the environment and the health of applicators.
Use & Application
How do I prepare the surface before application?
Preparation is the most important step to ensure adhesion:
1. Remove old paint and scale (wire brush, grinder, stripping disc)
2. Degrease the surface thoroughly
3. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of contaminants
The more thorough the preparation, the better and more durable the protection.

How do I apply GalvaCYL and how many coats?
GalvaCYL can be applied by brush, roller or low-pressure spray gun. Apply a uniform and even coat. For optimum protection, we recommend 2 to 3 coats, allowing drying between each application. Mix the product thoroughly before use as the zinc settles to the bottom of the container.
What is the drying time?
Touch dry: approximately 30 minutes (at 20°C, normal humidity) — an additional coat can be applied from this point.
Full dry: 24 hours before applying a finishing paint.
Low temperatures and high humidity extend drying times. Do not apply in rain or below 5°C.

Can you paint over GalvaCYL?
Yes. GalvaCYL is compatible with most finishing paints (alkyd, epoxy, polyurethane). Wait for full drying (minimum 24h) before applying the finishing coat. GalvaCYL acts as a high-performance anti-rust primer, offering excellent adhesion for finishing paints.
